Duncan Cates Cave was born and raised in Greene County, Tennessee. He is licensed to practice law in the State Courts of Tennessee and the Federal Court of the Eastern District of Tennessee.

Following graduation from Greeneville High School and after winning the title of All–American as an outstanding high school wrestler, Duncan elected to continue his athletic career in football as an offensive lineman in the Southeastern Conference for Vanderbilt University Commodores in Nashville, Tennessee where Duncan earned the title as the strongest man in college football and was a two–time Academic All–SEC as starter for the Commodores. Following graduation from Vanderbilt University with honors and after work stints in Chicago, IL and Charlottesville, VA, Duncan earned his Jurist Doctorate in Law from Samford University Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama. In addition to being a graduate of the National Criminal Defense College and being a member of the Greene County and Kingsport Bar Association, Duncan holds an Associate’s Degree from Walters State Community College in Morristown, Tennessee. Duncan serves a member of the Greeneville Exchange Club and attends The First Presbyterian Church of Greeneville, Tennessee. Duncan is married to the beautiful and talented Dr. Lyndsey Rae Hazen–Cave who serves the citizens and residents of Greene County, Tennessee as a dentist for the Greene County Health Department. Duncan works out of the Greeneville, Tennessee office and the Tri–Cities office in Kingsport, Tennessee.
